High Performance Multiaxis Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Blue Energy Harvesting
This project develops a high-performance, omnidirectional triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for harvesting blue energy from ocean waves. The spherical TENG integrates multilayered dielectric interfaces and liquid-solid TENGs (LS-TENGs) to capture mechanical energy from water wave motion in all directions. The device achieves a peak open-circuit voltage of 100V under single-axis oscillations at 1.8Hz and demonstrates consistent multi-axial energy harvesting performance. Numerical simulations validate the electric potential distribution, while practical tests confirm the system’s reliability in tranquil and dynamic sea conditions. This innovative approach enhances the feasibility of sustainable ocean energy harvesting to meet global renewable energy goals.
